Announcements:
Meeting: October 3 at 7:00 P.M at Rex and JoAnn’s house (6152).
Potluck: October 7 at 7:00 P.M. in the lane behind 6152. Please bring a dish.
Cleanup: October 21 at 10:00 A.M at the playground. *Note that this is changed from the usual first Saturday to coincide with the city’s Fall cleanup.*
Minutes:
Treasurer’s report: We received one more dues payment. Balance of all funds: $1091.43; balance in checking: $639.47.
Newsletter update: Clifford was unable to attend, but sent word that he had only received one article, and therefore was extending the deadline until September 16.
Officer Gibson was unable to attend; an officer may attend an upcoming meeting.
We agreed to send a letter to Ken Harris requesting help with reducing the speed limit to 20 mph on Chinquapin Parkway (currently, the “safe speed” is listed as 20, but this is not an actual speed limit). This could be a first step towards getting speed bumps, because they monitor speeds to see how many people are speeding before putting in speed bumps.
